The Perfect Carpet Cleaner

Homeowners, renters want to bring that carpet back to its glory days? Got more stains on your carpet than you can count? No one wants to break the bank trying to find the perfect cleaner and now they don’t have to.  I’m going to show you how to make my perfect carpet cleaner that will lift those stains right out, using products you can find in your own home.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and everyone wants their home to sparkle for the hoards of relatives that are coming by. This recipe can be used for large areas or small spot treatments.

Small Batch

2 T Dawn Soap Detergent
2T Baking Soda
1 C Water
1 T White Distilled Vinegar

Large Batch

¼ C Dawn Soap Detergent
¼ C Baking Soda
1 Pint Water
1/8 C White Distilled Vinegar

To whip this spot cleaning machine together, you will need to first combine the detergent and the baking soda together. Do not worry about having the exact amounts, eyeballing it works just fine, just make sure that these two ingredients are equal in amount. The detergent and baking soda will make a nice paste. Add the water next and mix together until it becomes very soapy and bubbly. Lastly, add your white vinegar. This is when the magic happens. The mixture will almost double in size when the chemical reaction between the baking soda and vinegar happens.

Once your mixture is ready, take a scrub brush and load up. Pat the mixture into the carpet with your scrubber first to get deep down into the fibers. Then scrub, scrub, scrub. You will begin to see the change in color as the dirt is lifted from your carpet. For the best results, vacuum each spot. The vacuum will grab the remainder of the dirt from your carpet give your carpet a nice, finished look.

So try this recipe out and impress your guests with your super clean carpet and stuffed turkey this Thanksgiving. Don’t worry about any harsh overbearing smells this carpet cleaner acts as a deodorizer as well, so your home cooking will shine.
